June.....such a beautiful month here on the east coast...

Bonjour!!  The last few days here have been just heaven!!  not to hot..cool breeze from the ocean...what we dream about...perfect porch weather!!  I so love this porch..when we moved into take care of my dad it was just half the size.. Mr. Miss Holly is a very handy man indeed with and I said you know I think this porch needs to be bigger!   and so it was!!!!  well it is just right now and we even have a porch bed!!!
This was part of my morning P.j. stroll...  this is one of the prettiest times of the garden... my mum started the garden..well..she really built it...she was the most extraordinary person I ever knew..I could write volumes and plan to one of these days....  I have added and changed things ..but she really built it.
back to the porch....... this is the coziest bed on earth... I sleep here a lot in the summer and right into the fall and early winter...but the birds wake me at 4:13!!!!!  still lovely...
Buster bear has settled in for the day!!   He always sleeps with me!!  and talks to me all night..every time I move he says a little "prrrrt prrrrt !!"
I did a little redecorating.. new paint on the floor...new ( old ) table from my wonderful neighbor Miss Barbara.  I said " I would love a round table "  and she said  " I have one you can have!!! "   she does estate clean outs and has always got things I love..... and want but do not really need...unless it is fabric or sewing things or!!!  round tables!!!
I am not a knitter BUT I want to be..I learned to crochet first and I am pretty good... but I have never spent enough time working on knitting soooooo once again I am making myself just practice.... I love the basket weave stitch...crocheting is so fast... and I love to crochet but I really want to be able to knit!!!!
When I see this I think Paradise..... and it is....but I always feel as if I am boasting....I am not...as I have said in past posts...this place I live was a gift to my parents in 1962.....there was only a tiny 3 room summer  cottage built on it... 1912 was the build date... the cottage is still part of the house..  I cherish it every day and feel I am just a caretaker for the next owner hopefully one of my sisters children...in the meantime... I will share it with all of you...I wish you could hear the birds right now...the other day we counted at least twenty different  calls.....at breakfast!!!  we use no chemicals ever and my mum and dad did not either...so you walk into the garden and just pop a tomato in your mouth!!!    it is really heaven on earth!!!
I hope you all have a wonderful, happy, creative and productive day!!!!

oh and thanks for all the lovely comments.....those things really make ones day......xoxoxo

  4. No, you're not boasting! You and your family have worked very hard to create a bit of paradise and who better to nurture and care for it in readiness for the next generation. It looks absolutely wonderful.

  5. Wonderful, it is not wrong to enjoy what you have and where you are and to talk about it, it has been a lovely post to read. I am envious but only because my life is not where I wish it to be! but I too live in a lovely part of the world and must enjoy it for the moment! Now a daybed in a porch, with a round table and the weather to match - heaven, lucky you, enjoy!!!! Regards.

  6. That porch is divine, as is your garden, I could easily spend hours in both. Your knitting is great, I have never done that stitch and I'm a knitter, maybe I am just a knitter of sorts!!

  9. Your garden and porch are wonderful and look so tranquil. Cats are so funny aren't they - mine purr and purr as they sleep beside me or at the bottom of the bed at night time - sometimes they snore, too:)
