Yesterday I was talking with a neighbor who has 4 wonderful children...3 boys and 1 little girl...she was asking about how to do a keepsake quilt with special clothes her daughter wore....well one thing lead to another and I have a commission!! Yahoo!! I am desperately trying to get a small business going with my hand work...but so much every day life gets in the way!!
So this is my pile of clothes and now I get to play!!! I have lots of ideas but do have to keep within a budgeted amount...we all know we don't really make that much..but it sure is fun...so...here they are....any and all ideas welcome!! I love to hear everyone's imput....so many creative people out there!!!!!!
I'm thinking little dresses....with embroidery here and there.....
I am hoping to be on here more soon....but boy is summer busy.......The garden and yard add so much extra to do day to day...
I have total fall fever...crisp days ....the smell of leaves....but usually September here is really a late summer month...but beautiful none the less....well ...wish me luck on my project...I'll keep you posted!!
Happy day to you all!!

What a wonderful idea to make a quilt out of her daughter's dresses, good luck on the commission.
ReplyDeleteLook forward to seeing the completed quilt.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely idea - I can't wait to see the end product! It is feeling very autumnal here in Scotland today - there's that crispness in the air. I love autumn - I can't wait :)
ReplyDeleteI love that idea and how exciting - a commission. I can't wait to see what lovely keepsake you make.

How wonderful for you! Just keep letting people know that you have a handmade business and you will get orders! As for ideas, the embroidery is always wonderful as well as applique from the different dresses. I can't wait to see what you create!
ReplyDeleteGreat to hear you have a commission! What fun!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your commission, it will be such fun to let your mind wander on all of the beautiful creations you will be making. I do hope you will show us the finished treasure. xo
