We were so lucky...

We were so very lucky...just a lot of clean up...Thank God...
What a hair raising storm...if you look along the line of houses you will see a huge wave breaking right over a house!!! The flood tide on the marsh covered the land for over 5 hours..a very rare site...
So so heartbreaking for so many....the pictures of New York and New Jersy are unbelievable . So much worse than anyone every imagined...
Thanks to you nice friends for your thoughts and concerns..

Storm's a Comin !!!!!!!!

This was the back marsh covered in a flood tide several days ago......we are in for a lot more than this...may be the likes we've never seen before...this is looking down a hill...so we should be protected from flooding....but the houses you see in the distance...are on a barrier beach...they could be in big trouble...
I love a good storm but.....not like this...farther south on the coast is preparing for the worst..I feel so for these people...leaving your home to unknown danger is so horrible...this is going to be a very interesting few days...


This was the post I thought I would be doing...the last harvest and the last few flowers...

I thought I would be enjoying these leaves for a few more days.. But ..most of them are stuck to the screens!!!
Well....it is nerve wracking waiting for this..it is blowing like crazy already..and we are still hours away...
To all my nice friends out there in the path of this I will be saying lots of prayers for you and your homes.....be careful!!!!!
I'll be knitting and sewing probably in the dark for the next few days!! Be safe!!

Fall!!!!

Absolutely beautiful fall morning in the mountains!! The color is starting but thankfully taking its time!!
This is mr. Richards handy work!!


There is not a soul here....it's so wonderfully quiet....
I saw my first pileated woodpecker !!! We've been coming here al my life and this was the first!!! They are huge!!! We also saw a mink!! I don't know about all of you but the one thing I crave ( beside doing handwork) is quiet..... Just total quiet....it's here!!!
