Now that my computer is fixed I can download a few more pics from the memory quilt...
It started as just a pieced quilt and we ( the mum and myself)  decided on the  embroidery after the fact....so glad we did!!

 I am really happy with this... I think the S is my favorite...the others are just fun things...

 little Sophie has a nightlight in her room and it projects the constellations ..

This was the last embroidery I did and it was because I went to a school concert and Sof brother was in the jazz band and the entire concert Sophie stood in front of her mum and conducted with such gusto through the entire concert!!!  I had told them the quilt was done and that night I said they would have to wait a little longer as I had just thought of one more embroidery to add!!

Miniature Gardens......

When I was a little girl my mum taught my sister and I to make miniature gardens....
a tiny little land where you could shrink and suddenly be small enough to look up into a flower....
It was her brilliant way of teaching us to look closely at things .....to see the smallest wonders of nature....  it worked.....for me nature is my church.....it gives me hope....
Gardens are heaven on earth...and these little tiny versions are sooooo much fun to make!!

The memory quilt!!! This was a pile of baby clothes ....all the favorites saved by a mum for her little girl....
I turned it into her memory quilt.....added embroideries of special memories and fun things to look at!!
I am pretty pleased with it...most importantly they love it!!

Spring!!!

Things are really starting to pop here!!!!! I have never seen so many crocuses!!!
I just adore spring bulbs...

Red wings!!!

This is a sure sign of spring..the day the redwings arrive...they have one of the most beautiful calls and I start listening the last week of feb. this year it was the 26th!!! I could just tell it was the day .... It had a special feel to it...it was one of my dads favorite days of the year!!! He would shout "they're here... they're here!!!"
In the next few days it would be one ...then a few more and then by weeks end the trees would be
full... Well... They're here!!!! The trees are full and spring is on its way!!!!
