Oh! I adore this sort of thing and often wish we still preferred styles like this. The skill and patience needed to create these tiny items must have been enormous. Absolutely beautiful.
What lovely craftsmanship. I think about all the work that goes into smocking also. I have one of my baby dresses with all the pintucks and smocking. I don't know that I have the patience for all that work.
