Irene the terrible!!

Well....just got our power back after 3 days..really not so bad..the storm could have been so so so much worse....we lost trees and had a MESS to clean up but all in all it was... not as bad as it could have been....it was an odd storm though...very twisty wind we could just here trees cracking all around us...but it was not a sustained high wind.. that would have just destroyed all......buckets of rain.  now it is just perfection here....cloudless ski and no humidity..!!!!!!.I will be back with more later when I am a little more caught up.....bye bye nice people!!

  1. Glad your safe, how did the kitties react to the storm? What a crazy weather year, we are likely to get more snow on the weekend, if we do, it will be a record for snow down to sea level, 3 times in one winter.

  4. Glad you're safe and have power again, we watched the storm work it's way up the coast because our daughter lives in Maryland.

  5. Good it's over and not as bad as feared! Glad to read you're safe and hadn't any worse damage. Though 3 powerless days is quite tough. Hope you were prepared!

  6. So glad you are all safe and was very happy that it had been downgraded so that it wasn't as destructive, as it would have been. Were your kitties scared?

  8. We had a biggie last night (Thursday) too. We all sat outside watching the fireworks until the deluge; then we watched from indoors. A lot of branches down, but no fatalities.

  10. WOW! I heard from my Mass. friends that you guys got hit big time. Luckily, by veering off to the left onto land, it snuck right by us with some gustiful winds. Not even any rain. Had it stayed coastal, we'd have gotten slammed, probably worse than any storm in the 9 years since I've been here. (9 years, wow! Time is sure a funny thing!)
