95 Year old handmade bonnet......

Look at this beautiful piece of art.....every stitch by hand...


Look at the featherstitching....

All the pin tucking...
And this sweet tiny featherstitching with the french knots and the beautiful detail of the thread on the underside of the fabric..



 Just look at that!!!!  it just takes my breath away!!
 This is the underside of the french knot detail....


What a piece of art!!!!

  5. Oh! I adore this sort of thing and often wish we still preferred styles like this. The skill and patience needed to create these tiny items must have been enormous. Absolutely beautiful.

  11. What lovely craftsmanship. I think about all the work that goes into smocking also. I have one of my baby dresses with all the pintucks and smocking. I don't know that I have the patience for all that work.
